According to The Hill, Rep. Charles Rangel (D-N.Y.) will re-introduce legislation to reinstate the military draft this year. According to sources Rangel will wait however, until the new economic multi-billion dollar stimulus packages is showed through the congress.
The Democrat is coming back again with the ever so, and continually unpopular measure. His original attempt was in 2006 when Nancy Pelosi (D-Ca) took over Congress and did not want to ruffle the feathers of the supporters who put her there. She probably dismissed Mr Rangel with one of her frightening Halloween glares (see picture to ther right).
Similarly, in 2004, Mr. Rangel’s first attempt to draft young American boys was shut down by the Republican controlled Congress in a 402-2 vote.
Will Mr. Rangel succeed in spoiling the mood for his party after Barack H. Obama takes over the office, or will he be indicted for his alleged tax invasion and other ethical misdeeds and free us from his ‘colorful’ personality?
So, Mr. Rangel, where is this demented idea coming from? Are you trying to hide behind this Un-American legislation? Is this one of your Wizard of Oz tricks to pull the curtain over our eyes inb order to distract us from your ethics committee and IRS issues?
